Like many businesses in the catering industry, we love attending the Commercial Kitchen show each year. It’s a two day per year event where over 100 catering equipment and service suppliers promote their latest products to an array of customers and potential new clients. There are over 25 free seminars to attend and it is a great opportunity for networking and industry research.
However, this year has been a little bit different. Despite our excitement for attending the show yet again, the recent pandemic has forced the show, as well as many other trade shows, to be cancelled for 2020. Of course, the cancellation of the show this year is a disappointing announcement for every business who planned to attend, but the decision is also the right one to ensure everyone stays as safe as possible and follows government regulations throughout this uncertain time.
In light of the recent cancellation of the event, we wanted to take this opportunity to look back on the years we attended the show and share our highlights.
The Gold Innovation Award
At last year’s Commercial Kitchen show, we were very pleased to take home the Gold Innovation Award for the second year running. This competition involved trade show visitors and customers voting for their favourite product on the first day of the show.
On the second day of the show, the highest voted exhibitors presented their product to a panel, who then decided on the winner. We were thrilled when Therma Dry came out top! Going back even further to the year 2018, we also won the Gold Award with the cold-warm plate, and it was great to keep up this winning streak.
Seminars
The Commercial Kitchen show hosts over 25 free seminars to attendees of the event which are run by industry leaders. These seminars cover a range of topics including latest industry trends as well as ideas and inspiration for exhibitors and visitors alike. These talks create a buzz between both exhibitors and visitors, and many people travel to the show primarily to attend their chosen seminar.
Other Show Highlights
There are a number of highlights for any exhibitor at the show which really make us want to return year after year:
-
Networking - We love meeting new people and conversing with fellow exhibitors and potential customers to keep up to date with the latest catering trends and issues.
-
Discover - Learning of new innovative products from businesses in a range of sectors makes us love the industry even more.
-
Motivation - We love providing our customers with quality products, and the Commercial Kitchen show keeps our motivation and determination moving forward.
