Hupfer take home Gold at CKS for the second year

After two days exhibiting at the Commercial Kitchen Show, Hupfer is delighted to be walking away with a Gold Innovation Award for the second year in a row!

The Innovation Challenge took place on the second day of the show at the NEC in Birmingham and Hupfer’s ThermaDry was in the running for an award.

The challenge involves a public vote during the first day of the show, where visitors and buyers can vote at the Innovation Challenge Gallery for their favourite product.

Those with the most votes are then invited to pitch to a panel of industry judges at the Keynote Theatre on the second day of the show, where each product is awarded a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award.

The Thermadry by Hupfer is a super-efficient unit which is built with modern heating technology. The product utilises infrared heating lamps which heat the containers through radiation providing an instant heat-up. This then saves the user time and money when compared to traditional units.

The unit’s inner compartment is built with integrated ceramic glass plates for dry heating and helps to maintain a constant temperature using thermostatic controls.

During the live pitches, the judges were impressed by the Thermadry’s innovative heating technology, energy efficiency, and high performance.

The judges said: “This is the reinvention of the bain marie. Simple, effective, well thought-out, from a company that thinks about the problem and then applies innovation.”

This is the second year running that Hupfer has won a Gold Award in the Innovation Challenge, following last year’s win with the Hot and Cold Display Unit.

Hupfer would like to thank everyone who voted for the Thermadry in the Innovation Challenge and a huge well done to everyone else who took part.

Our team had a fantastic two days at the show and we’re excited to announce we will be returning next year when the show moves to the ExCel in London.
